Assistant Professor of Sociology at Springfield College. I study how cities breathe and change. Usually found grading papers at a local café or explaining zoning laws to anyone who will listen.

Bio

I grew up fascinated by the invisible lines that divide neighborhoods and the stories hidden in brick facades. That curiosity led me through a grueling PhD program at UMass Amherst, where I focused on post-industrial urban revitalization. Now, at 28, I'm one of the youngest faculty members in my department, navigating the weird transition from student to authority figure. My teaching philosophy is simple: get out of the classroom. I drag my students on walking tours of downtown Springfield because you can't learn sociology just from a textbook. I'm passionate about bridging the gap between academic theory and real-world community work. When I'm not burying myself in research or grading papers, I'm usually playing pickup basketball at the Y or volunteering with a local youth mentorship program. I believe education is the most powerful tool for social mobility, and I'm just trying to pay forward the guidance I received along the way.
